Update plus Ultimate Blog Party 2012

I know I've been MIA lately but I have a good reason, I promise! :)

I've been a busy bee working on my new site www.emrdesignstudio.com where you'll find custom designs for both Blogger and Wordpress. I'll also provide pre-made blog designs, tutorials, freebies and lots more. See I told ya I had a good reason.

In the meantime, I wanted to talk a little bit about the Ultimate Blog Party 2012. UBP12 is a super awesome blog hop hosted by Susan and Janice of 5MinutesForMom.com. This is my second year participating and I'm so excited. Last year I partied, met tons of new friends and even got to network. Def stop by.

Freebie Alert - Valentines Day Photo Template

I mentioned before over at our fan page 2012 is the year for new beginnings. This new year Emr Design Studio will open its doors to the public. We will also provide some freebies here and there such as templates, graphics, icons, etc. Make sure to become a fan and subscribe to our feed to stay informed.

Ana Silva Photography

Ana from Ana Silva Photography contacted me to redesign her blog. She was looking for a blog to accommodate both her photography and photo props businesses. I absolutely love the colors and the logo from her design, I had a lot of fun with this design. Check out her blog.

Review Gadget

Did you know Facebook got rid of the reviews tab? Well they did! They announced it at the end of the Summer and finally took it of.

Now, what can you do with all your readers/clients who are eager to leave you a review? Send them to your blog or site, of course :)

For those of you who use WordPress, there are tons of review plugins out there however for Blogger users, the selection is limited. I found one for blogger that should do the job just fine and it’s FREE…

Google Friend Connect. Yep the same place where you get your followers gadget also has a review gadget. Here’s a step-by-step tutorial.

Video tut - Recoloring Artwork in Illustrator

Hey guys!!! I'm getting the hang of creating video tutorials, here is another one for those of you that own Adobe Illustrator. This tut was created using CS5 but I believe it can be achieved from CS3 onwards.

It is very simple and easy to follow, but if you have any questions just let me know!

Quick Illustrator and Photoshop tip for Mac users

Mac users, did you ever wonder how to get rid of your desktop background showing through while you're working on Illustrator or Photoshop.

That was one of the things I missed when I made the switch from PC to Mac. Well, here is quick video tip on how to fix it.

I apologize, but I have to get used to blogging! I am also in the process of launching my graphic design business along with blog design. I have been working on my own site's look so in the meantime bare with me. I will be making lots of changes in the next couple of months.

I have mentioned before that I'm new to the blogging world, in my attempt to become a  good blogger I set out to research what a blog was and how would it help me.

Well, I went to Wikipedia (I could hear my professors saying wikipedia is not a good research site, lol) and found what I was looking for. However, reading about it still left me with questions.

Custom Facebook Page Link/URL...

This tutorial is for my new friends from the UBP11 (HUGE blog party hosted by 5 minutes for mom) who got more than 25 Facebook fans/followers and would like to customize their Facebook link/url from that very long and tedious Facebook generic link/url to an easy to remember link/url.

*** I just noticed FB changed their customized URL rules; you no longer have to wait for 25 fans in order to customize the URL. It can be done as soon as you create the page...... YAY!!!!! :D ***

By the end of this tutorial you'll be able to go from www.facebook.com/pages/your-facebook-page-title/1234567891234 to www.facebook.com/yourfacebookpagetitle. You need at least 25 fans to be able to customize it. If you've customized it before, you will not be able to make new changes.
